I used to shoe horses, and this is a hoof rasp, for those equine challenged. I used it to shape my neck and it worked great! You can pick one up at your local farrier shop,if you're so inclinded. Sometimes I amuse myself. Clinton

Yep .. bought from a guy at a yard sale - 8 bucks. He had a bucket full. Tears thru curlya nd birdseye maple liek nothing else. You need a real touch to use the course side though !!!

having put horseshoes on for over forty years i have worn out a few of them...

new ones are available from farriers suppliers or feed store for about $18-$25. the screws-on handle is an extra $4-$5.

Not bad...but I'm fine with my Shinto and hand-cut Herdim rasps f'r now. Still, that thing's a monster!

It amazes me that there is another farrier out there building guitars! Yeah I stopped when I was within 1/8" and have been sanding ever since. My first, and I've come to the conclusion that the neck is almost 50% of the build. I've been working on the neck for almost three weeks, the body took 10! Clinton

A friend at Cooper/Nicholson Tools' marketing just gave me a couple of Nicholson 49s. God bless her.
